water shortage a local issue ?
« on: 14:18:28, 26/06/06 »
I am fed up with hearing on the news about the water shortage as if it is national crisis. It is not a national problem but just because it is affecting London and the Southeast the rest of us have to have this story rammed down our throats on an almost daily basis. If it were the Northeast which had this problem it would be restricted to the regional news media. We have a successful regional water company in Northumbrian water and planners here had the foresight to build Keilder water. As it is this is a local Southeast problem. I couldnt care less if some gardeners in Kent cant water their lawns. After all the vast majority of the people in London and Southeast didnt give a damn about us when we had a severe jobs shortage in the 1980s and early 1990s.
