Any one out there who remembers the colours of the Tyne Olympic Cycling Club? This goes back to the 1950/70's. when every  race in the area had England International riders in the field.
I now live down south and never see any race reports in the magazines which disappoints me. I recently took up cycling again to keep up my fitness as I had a problem with my little finger!!! which put a stop to my main sport of windsurfing, hope to get back on a board soon.
hope to hearhear from somebody soon.

many thanks Leon for the photos, they brought back memories, people now do not believe me when I tell them our jerseys were made of wool plus they had pockets in boththe back and front of the jersey. No flash harries in following cars then!!!.
I joined the Derby Wheelers in 1950/51  and I knew the gosforth mob quite well especially the Cooks and Mr. Steele of Steel Cycles. We often trained with the gosforth riders and took partin their mid week 10's. time has taken its toll and although I must have raced against many of the riders in your photos I cannot put names to the faces, how sad. Dennis Fairly used to be in the Derby Wheelers in my day, if you see him say hello for me. Tyne Olympic Jerseys, were red white and blue, the trouble is starting from the bottom was it Blue or Red? hope every thing is well with you , hear from you soon.

Hi there, bit crossed purposes I think, I'm not involved in cycling. I saw your post and out of curiosity had look to see if there was anythingout there. Were there no contacts
on the site that may be able to help? Sorry if I got your hopes up thinking you might be able to get in touch with old mates, keep trying and good luck.  :)
