many thanks Leon for the photos, they brought back memories, people now do not believe me when I tell them our jerseys were made of wool plus they had pockets in boththe back and front of the jersey. No flash harries in following cars then!!!.
I joined the Derby Wheelers in 1950/51 and I knew the gosforth mob quite well especially the Cooks and Mr. Steele of Steel Cycles. We often trained with the gosforth riders and took partin their mid week 10's. time has taken its toll and although I must have raced against many of the riders in your photos I cannot put names to the faces, how sad. Dennis Fairly used to be in the Derby Wheelers in my day, if you see him say hello for me.
