Central Newcastle High School's Choir gave the world premiere of a new setting of the traditional carol "Adam lay y-bounden" by one of Britain's best-known composers at their School Carol Service in December. The work was by composer Geoffrey Burgon who wrote the TV scores for "Brideshead Revisited" and "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy".
